OSVB reports Particle Gallery bug as fakeThe Open Source Vulnerability Database has vindicated Particle Gallery by classifying the directory vulnerability reported in early June as being a myth/fake. The OSVD concluded that no such vulnerability existed in the software.The rumour began in early June with claims that a variable in Particle Gallery would give hackers the ability to access a system's root password and therefore gain root access to a server. However after investigation by the Particle Soft team, they concluded that there was no such vulnerability in the software. Independently, the OSVD have also reached this conclusion. Particle Gallery is currently suffering from no security bugs either known to the Particle Soft team and security monitors Secunia confirm that there are currently no advisories affecting the latest version of Particle Gallery.
